Alert: Due to concerns for the safety of our children during the solar eclipse, the Menifee County School District will dismiss at 12PM on Monday, August 21st. The eclipse will be in maximum view in Menifee County beginning at 1:04PM and will last until 3:55PM. Precautions should be taken to avoid eye damage and you can obtain protective glasses from many area retailers. We ask that you take precaution with your children and family during this event. School Closings / Delays
ALL BUILDINGS AFFECTED

After further review and safety considerations of the entire school community, the Menifee County School District will not be in session on Monday, August 21st. All school activities scheduled for this day will need to be rescheduled. Please take precautions during the solar eclipse. You can visit https://eclipse2017.nasa.gov/ for more information on safe viewing. We look forward to seeing everyone on Tuesday morning!



Solar Eclipse and Eye Safety

A total solar eclipse is probably the most spectacular astronomical event that most people will experience in their lives. There is a great deal of interest in watching eclipses, but it must be done safely.  Because of this exceptional opportunity, there is concern that people will be more likely to stare at the Sun during this event.  Improper viewing of the Sun during an eclipse can result in eye injuries such as the development of "eclipse blindness" or retinal burns.  Please see article for more info.
