Accelerated Reading

 Students AR points are determined by their reading level.  Mrs. Angie used a formula to figure out each individual students points based on information provided with Save the Children.

This counts as 100 points as a Language Arts grade.  Most students will not have diffuculty completing their AR challenge.  However, if your child is struggling with this encourage them to bring books home to read.  They can check out AR books each Monday morning during library time. Ms. Crain will also let them exchange books when needed.

We have a challenge that started Nov. 12 and will end April 1st.  Each individual student is challenged to reach 150,000 word count based on books they've read and tested on.  They will have to receive an 80% or better for credit.  When we left for Christmas break, 2 students had already met this challenge!  Each student that meets this goal will receive a field trip in April!  The students who are half way to the goal by January 15th, will receive a small reward.

Please encourage your child to read!  If there is a particular book your child would like to read, please let me know and I'll try to get it.
