• Alert:

Menifee County Schools will follow the recommendation of Governor Beshear and will begin our school year with online instruction only on August 26th.  Although we hoped to offer in-person classes, that is not possible at this time, so we will support our students in making online learning the best educational experience possible. We will continue to update our community as we approach possible in-person start dates based on future guidance.

With these changes, we will be making adjustments to our plans for “Parent Nights” to offer more guidance for all students. Please watch the Menifee County District Website and Facebook page for updates on dates and times for picking up Chromebooks and other materials.

Additionally, please see earlier information on our website and Facebook page regarding online registration. This information should be completed for all students. There is additional information about support and assistance with online registration included in the registration document.

The faculty and staff of Menifee County Schools are looking forward to the 20-21 school year. Although it is not what we had envisioned for our students, we are dedicated to serving our students and families to the best of our abilities and making online learning a positive experience.

Mr. Kash was hired at Menifee County High School in July 2018. He recently completed his first year of teaching at the high school. Mr. Kash is a 2018 graduate of the University of Kentucky with a Bachelor's Degree in Career and Technical Education in Agriculture. Mr. Kash is also an ordained minister, and spends time traveling with his church in various events. In his spare time, he loves to hike, kayak, and work with his livestock and garden. He is very excited about what his second year will bring!

Mr. Kash offers several classes and opportunities for students at Menifee County High School. He teaches courses in Horticulture & Plant Science and Agricultural Power Systems.

The following classes are offered for the 2019-2020 school year:

Principles of Agricultural Science and Technology

Landscape and Turf Management

Greenhouse Technology

Small Power Equipment

Agricultural Structures and Design

Mr. Kash's class also utilize two learning labs, a conventional Greenhouse and Agricultural Mechanics Shop, to deliver hands on content. The program offers several ways for a student to become transition ready. In 2019-2020, the program will partner with Murray State University to deliver college level dual credit courses in Advanced Animal Science and Horticulture. Students can potentially earn college credit from passing the End of Program Assessment as well. This is recognized by most public universities in Kentucky.

Supervised Agricultural Experience Programs

A supervised agricultural experience program is any intentional work-based learning experience that is completed outside of regularly scheduled school hours. Projects can include but are not limited to: working for an agricultural business, producing a crop or livestock, researching an agricultural science project, conducting a community service project, securing a job related to your career goals, or even creating your own business.

Every student enrolled in agricultural education classes will be required to conduct an SAE program. A summative grade worth 200 points will be given each semester based on the Supervised Agricultural Experience Program Rubric.

The intra-curricular student organization that goes with all agriculture classes is the FFA. All students enrolled in agriculture classes are strongly encouraged to be a member of the FFA; however, it is not mandatory. Some of the FFA activities that a student enrolled in Agricultural Education may participate in are as follows:  Career Development Events, Leadership Development Events, National FFA Convention, State FFA Convention, Kentucky FFA Leadership Training Center (FFA Camp), 212/360 Leadership Conference and various other local academic and recreational activities.
