I am a native of Cincinnati, Ohio, where I attended Lockland High School, playing football, wrestling, baseball and tennis.  I was also a member of the band program, which included marching band and steel drum band.

I attended Berea College from 1993-1997, graduating with a Bachelors in Music.

I received my masters in Special Education from Campbellsville University in 2007

I received my masters in Music Education from University of the Cumberlands in 2010.

I received my Director of Special Education Certification, Level I,  from Campbellsville University in 2017.

My teaching career includes:

-2 years at JT Alton Middle School in Hardin Co, where I taught Special Education and was the head football Coach

-9 1/2 years at Russell County High School, where I taught all core content classes in collaborative and resource settings, and also taught arts and humanities classes, and was the choral director.  I worked with the marching band as a brass staff person for 4 seasons.  I also coached football and track for 5 years.

-Outside of teaching, I have also worked for 4 years for the state Department of Mental Health and Retardation at the Communities at Oakwood in Somerset, KY, as a case manager and as a residental home manager.

-I joined the outstanding staff of Menifee County Elementary at the start of January, 2016, where I spent the spring semester, 2016, teaching ESS classes, World Cultures Classes, and conduct RTI classes in math at Menifee Elementary.

-From School Year 2016-17 to School Year 2019-2020, I was a resource/Special Education Teacher for Botts Elementary.

I co-taught and provided services for students in grades Pre-Kindergarten through 5th grade.  I also have worked in the after-school CHAMPS program, both for academic services, as well as music-related activities.

For School Year 2020-21, the last year of Botts Elementary School, I will be in the role of Related Arts/Activities teacher, focusing on music, Heath/PE, Art, with some other movement-based activities.   I am excited for this change in my teaching career, and am looking forward to ending Botts Elementary's history with students having fun learning and being active in the arts.
